Registration for Amazing Race 2009:Santa Cruz Edition
The Haven faith community is sponsoring its third Amazing Race event, this time in Santa Cruz! Team up with one or two others to complete various challenges, from logic puzzles to physical obstacles, all while taking in the beauty of Santa Cruz. This Amazing Race will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

What: The Amazing Race
Why: To benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via Team in Training
When: Sunday, September 13, 2009 @ 11am
Where: Starting location is on Seabright Beach on East Cliff Drive, somewhere between Alhambra Ave & Mott Ave.
Who: You and one or two other teammates. Each person on a team should register. There is a 25 team limit, so register to ensure participation!
Cost: We are taking donations. Checks can be made payable to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thank you for your generosity and partnership as we reach for our $5000 goal! Checks or cash will be collected at the starting line.
The Amazing Race: Beginning on Seabright Beach, teams of 2 or 3 will compete in a race that consists of running/jogging/walking to different locations in Santa Cruz. At the different locations, the teams will encounter challenges that will test physical prowess, wit, teamwork, information gathering, awareness, and stage presence. Each team will be given clues to move from station to station, all the while collecting tiles for a final challenge at the finish line. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Hot dogs and burgers will be provided at the end of the race. Also, please have all your team members register individaully on this page.
Important Information: Because of the unpredictable weather in Santa Cruz, make sure you dress appropriately for race day. You will be outdoors, so sunscreen and water are recommended. Be sure to wear running shoes because the average team will travel about 5 miles from start to finish. All events run on or near the coast. Events have been planned so that some events give an edge to 2 person teams and other events give an edge to 3 person teams.
